For many NYers wanting to take the quickest most affordable escape to the waters and beach front, Coney Island, comes to mind. Whether it’s taking one of a number of trains from the yellow and orange lines, either will get you to that bustling destination of amusement rides, old-world carnival games, hot dogs, sea food, and endless boardwalk entertainment. I would often visit the beach to take a break from the midtown city rush. And occasionally found time to create. This beach scape had me just away from stepping into the wet sand, yet far enough away from beachgoers, so no one would notice or care of the person painting the sun, sand, and active life of numerous locals and visitors. Oh, the seafood platter at the boardwalk eatery is on point!
