Love Again 2024

19 July - 19 September 2024

Love at first sight is a personal experience and a common theme in creative works: a person or character feels an instant, extreme, and ultimately long-lasting romanticattraction for a stranger upon first seeing that stranger. Many art collectors have used the same sentiment to describe their interactions with a particular artist's work, a medium, a style, or an innovative interpretation of a classic subject that led to a must-have acquisition. However, just as romantic attraction has a tendency to shift and, at times, completely change, the needs and preferences of art collectors evolve as well. Art, once loved, has a unique opportunity to be loved again by a new discerning eye. Hearne Fine Art aims to be a vehicle, a matchmaker of sorts, for these new connections with LOVE, AGAIN.

From the Ernest Withers' iconic Civil Rights photograph I Am a Man to the vibrant palette of William Tolliver’s silkscreen Pas de Deux to the delicate silverpoint rendering of dried flora in Attraction by Marjorie Williams-Smith, LOVE, AGAIN features a wealth of creative expression and a rich diversity of mediums, styles, and subject matter to consider. This year, Hearne Fine Art commemorates 36 years of presenting the foremost collection of works by regional, national, and international artists of African descent. As a longstanding fine art establishment and trustee of Black art, we are honored to facilitate transfers of ownership and new journeys for works by some of the most celebrated artists of our time. We cordially invite you, first time collector, seasoned patron, and everyone in between, to fall, head over heels in love, with your new favorite piece.
