Sylvester McKissick is an artist in Little Rock Arkansas. He is self-taught and have been painting all his life. He started painting out of the Hearne Fine Art Gallery in 2000. He has had numerous shows there and in a few other states.
His signature style is African American folk art. He uses acrylic paint, oil, pastels, woodcrafts, and some other types of art. McKissick also designs games.
He has paintings in the Historic Arkansas Museum, the Arkansas Mosaic Templars Cultural Centers personal collections, and He is one of the featured artist in a book titled Collaborations Two Decades Of African American Art, by the Hearne Fine Art Gallery from 1988 - 2008. Sylvester has a few paintings in local magazines and one of his paintings will be on the TV reality show Home Makeovers.
